Drawer Makeover

I breathed new life into an old deep drawer I rescued from a cupboard that was headed for the bin.

Now, if you’re anything like me and love turning “junk” into gems, you’re going to love this little transformation.

What I Used

• Pentart Chalky Paint in Patina Green
  
• Saltwash to add a gorgeous textured effect
  
• Fusion Mineral Paint - Victorian Lace
  
• IOD Transfers – including Catharina, Lost Garden, Wilde Bloem, and Petits Ornaments Foil Transfer

Let’s Get Painting!

I kicked off by mixing Patina Green with a bit of Saltwash to give the paint a thicker, sandy texture – it adds that rustic charm I love. Once that was dry, I added Fusion Mineral Paint (Victorian Lace) and then I moved on to the good stuff: layering transfers.

This drawer is now the perfect home for my IOD stamp collection, but it could be used for anything really – rolled towels in a bathroom, throws in your lounge, or even as a creative display piece.

Final Thoughts

This project was fun, simple, and a brilliant reminder that there’s beauty hiding in the most unexpected places – like the back of your shed! If you’re new to upcycling, start small (like a drawer!), and before you know it, you’ll be hunting kerbside treasures like a pro. 😉
